Ben Lyster-Binns was previously His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Costa Rica and His Majesty’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Nicaragua. Ben joined the Diplomatic Service in 1989 and has carried out a variety of roles in London, most recently as Head of the Joint FCO-DFID Somalia Unit. His previous overseas postings were to Uruguay, where he served as Ambassador from 2012 to 2016 and Lisbon, where he was Deputy Head of Mission. He has also served in Lilongwe (Malawi) as Aid and Development Secretary and in Muscat (Oman) as Political, Press and Public Affairs Officer.
